What is a schema validator?

Structured data (usually written as JSON-LD) is a small block of code that describes your page to search engines and AI answer engines in a machine-readable way. It’s what unlocks rich results — the star ratings, FAQ dropdowns, prices and breadcrumbs you see in Google — and it’s increasingly how AI assistants understand and cite your content.

Why structured data matters for AI answers

As search shifts from a list of links to AI-generated answers, the pages that get cited are the ones machines can understand cleanly. Well-formed schema is one of the strongest signals you can send about what your page is and why it should be the source of an answer.

What this tool checks

  • Every JSON-LD block on the page, and whether each one parses
  • The schema.org @type values you’ve declared
  • Whether the page has structured data at all — the most common gap

Frequently asked questions

01

How do I validate my schema markup?

Paste your page URL above. AnswerScope fetches the live page, finds every JSON-LD block, checks that it parses, and lists the schema.org types it declares (Article, Product, FAQPage, Organization, and so on).

02

What is JSON-LD structured data?

JSON-LD is the format Google recommends for structured data — a small script in your page that describes what the page is about in a machine-readable way. It powers rich results (stars, FAQs, prices) and helps AI answer engines understand and cite your content.

03

Does schema markup help with AI search?

Yes. Structured data makes your content easier for AI answer engines to parse, attribute and cite. As search shifts toward AI answers (AEO), clean schema is one of the clearest signals you can send about what your page means.

04

Which schema types should I use?

Use the type that matches your content: Article or BlogPosting for posts, Product with Offer for products, FAQPage for Q&A, Organization or LocalBusiness for your brand, and BreadcrumbList for navigation. Match the type to the page and fill the required properties.

The next question

Your page is AI-ready. But does AI actually cite you?

Being crawlable is step one. The AI Visibility Checker shows whether ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Gemini name and cite your brand, and who they name instead.
